The Model 6000 Superior bassoon represents the latest in P÷chner innovation, and is equipped with standard features that are only available as options on other bassoons. Twelve keys are made of sterling silver. On the boot joint, the F, F#, and Ab keys have been moved closer and the C sharp key is equipped with a double spatula. The Ab-Bb trill key has been designed to be multifunctional allowing trills from other notes. P÷chner has placed an adjusting screw on the low Bb key which dampens the low C to create a pianissimo low E. The wing joint has an Eb key and double spatula for the high E. To create a smooth feel, gliding rollers have been used for the whisper key mechanism, low B, and low Bb keys. The pivot screws are nylon-lined.
